Tennis Month in Canada Events!

June is Tennis Month in Canada and the Mount Pearl Tennis Club is participating in this initiative by offering three fun tennis events for adults, juniors and members.

The Longest Match

This event is open to juniors and adults with or without tennis experience.  Everyone is welcome: members from Mount Pearl, other clubs, or folks not with any club at all!  We are going to play a continuous tennis match from 8am in the morning until 10pm at night by having people rotate on and off the court.  Score will be kept per-matchup but also for each of the teams.  The winning team at the end of the day will earn ultimate bragging rights!

Players of similar age / skill / experience will be matched up with each other and you can choose if you want to play singles or doubles (or both) and for how long you want to play.  The goal is to create equal and fun matchups for all participants.

There is no cost, but we will be accepting donations to help pay for the food and snacks available.

This event will be held on June 22nd (June 23rd in case it rains).

Complete this form to registerPlaying times will be communicated to players by Thursday, June 20th.

Opening Team Tournament

The weekend of June 29 - 30 we will be hosting our first tournament of the season.  This is a fun team tournament where we will play some singles and doubles in teams to see who comes out on top.  This event is only open to Mount Pearl Tennis Club members.  More information about this tournament will be coming soon.  So stay tuned!

Program Update

Due to the ongoing labour dispute in the City of Mount Pearl; the Mount Pearl Tennis Club will be suspending all lesson and league programming at our facility until Sunday, July 24.  Going forward we will update our website on Sunday evenings and give an update to our members about the lessons for the upcoming week. In addition our clubhouse will be closed.  The safety of our members and our youth staff is of the utmost importance to the club.  We do not wish to put anyone at risk attempting to cross a picket line in order to participate in our programming.

We are currently looking at all other options to resume our program and plans to offer additional lesson time to make up for what is lost.  Please have patience as we work through this difficult situation. If the labour dispute is resolved during the week, we will be able to resume programming at our facility within 24 hours.

We are sorry for any inconvenience.  Our volunteer board is very disappointed to have to make this decision.  We will be monitoring the situation closely and will keep you informed. Please visit our website and social media for updates.

Thank you,

All courts are now set up for play! Courts 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 for tennis, and court 3 and 7 for Pickleball.  2021 members can use the same code as last season to access the courts until June 1st, and then the code will be reset.  Make sure you book your usage before you drop down.

Pickleball Membership Update

Based on requests from our pickleball-only members for last season, we have introduced a pickleball-only membership fee of $50 per year.  This will get you booking privileges on the two pickleball courts.  You will see this new option on the registration form.  If you had previously signed up at the $75 rate, reach out and we will process a partial refund.

We also have our own pickleball page that we will be adding content to over the season.

Registration Still Available!

Registration is now available for the 2022 season!  This season we are offering a full slate of programming, and will be bringing back our Fun Friday events for our Junior members!

Membership costs $75 for Juniors or Adults, with a $25 discount for the second Junior or Adult from the same family.  Junior memberships include two group lessons per week, as well as participation in the Fun Friday games and match play opportunities.  You can see our available lesson slots and times for more information.

Our Adult membership includes court booking privileges, free access to mixer events, as well as optional leagues and lesson addons.  You can see our adult lesson options at the link above and our league options in our Competitor Corner section.  All of our social tennis opportunities (less competitive match play options) are outlined on our Social Tennis page.

The previously dedicated lesson slot for older teens and young adults has been cancelled. Teens interested in lessons are invited to join the adult lessons. On your registration form indicate no lessons required and add a note indicating you would like to join the adult lessons!

Adult and Junior Summer programming begins June 27th.  Adult Spring League begins May 31st.
