Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. The Mount Pearl Tennis Club established two dedicated pickleball courts in the 2021 season at the request of our members who play a combination of pickleball and tennis. Pickleball is fast growing because of its gentle learning curve. You can pick up a racket, get a few tips, and be playing a competitive game later that day.
Pickleball is a combination of tennis and table tennis, and is played on a smaller court with table tennis style paddles and a plastic whiffle ball (the club has equipment for borrow if you want to give it a try). Pickleball can be played in both singles and doubles configuration. Tennis and pickleball court access are provided as part of club membership.
Each Wednesday at 6:30pm the club is offering a drop-in time for members and non-members interested in playing Pickleball. Play will be guided by a volunteer. Non-members can play by paying the $5 drop-in fee, members can join for free. Equipment can be provided as well for those looking to try it out.
If you would like to join us, confirm your participation by emailing mptcstaff@gmail.com or calling 748-1014 by 4pm each Wednesday. There are limited spots available. If there are not enough attendees, the drop-in will be cancelled.
