League Summary

  • Singles league for Mount Pearl Tennis Club Players
  • Runs for the duration of the summer season.
  • League Coordinator: Thomas Hawkins

League Features

  • Match Format - Scoring will be best 3 of 5, fast4 sets with no-ad scoring
  • Guided? - No, players are expected to understand the rules of tennis and be confident to conduct their own matches.
  • Scheduled Time? - Saturday and Sunday, times TBD.  Players can also coordinate matches and play outside this time.
  • Skill Range - 3.0+ (Beginner/Intermediate and better)
  • Dates - June 19 - August 23, 2024.  Playoffs for top 4 players: August 24 - Sept. 2

League Rules

  • Scoring Rules:
    • 1 point for each match played
    • 1 point for each set won
    • 1 point for each match won
    • 1/4 points earned for repeat matches
    • Must play a minimum of 5 matches to qualify for playoffs
    • Must play a minimum of 3 different players to quality for playoffs
  • Top 4 point getters will playoff at the end of the season.
    • Tiebreak will be head-to-head record (if available), second tie break will be overall win percentage
